Where to buy Organic Cotton Bedlinen in Europe in 2022

Seeing as we spend almost 1/3 of the day in our beds it makes sense to have them as healthy as possible and one way to do that is to buy organic cotton sheets. There is a huge number of retailers of such bedlinen, but with a bias towards English language, big-brand websites search engines don’t make finding them easy. Unless you know where to look, that is! To save you hours of searching here is my comprehensive list of where to source organic cotton sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers in Europe.

As always my ‘where to buy posts’ come with a health warning. It takes 9,750 litres of water to make one cotton bed sheet. That’s a lot of drinking water, enough for one person for almost 9 years. So before you click buy ask yourself ‘do I really need new bed linen?’

• Arnotts sells organic cotton sheets from Sheridan, John Lewis, Tekla and Wallis Young. They also do a kids range from Pottery Barn, although you have to click into the product to see they’re organic. Arnotts have the worst search functionality I’ve found on a website ever, so use the links I’ve included here unless you want to tear your hair out like I did!

If you’d prefer not to shop online, I know that Lidl stock organic duvet sets from time to time. I don’t know how durable they are, which is important because anything that isn’t long wearing is unsustainable regardless of what it’s made of.

Also Aerende in the UK sell washed linen duvet sets from flax grown without chemicals in Lithuania.
