Cute 1930s Kitchen Cupboard

1930s kitchen cupboard

I finally found a cute unit to fit the alcoves in our dining room. It was for sale in The Third Policeman store, which recently closed down in Rathmines in Dublin.

When we found the unit it was quite grubby and painted with a combination of dirty cream and acid yellow, nice! I set about painting it with some beige satin wood paint and coral-coloured chalk paint.

I had the beige satinwood in the house from a previous project and I made the chalk-paint myself by mixing powdered wall-filler and two tester pots of normal water-soluble latex paint (€1 each).

I’m so happy to finally have a spot to display some little treasures we’ve gathered over the years.
